You HAVE to check this out

Have any of you heard of this "Dining in the Sky"?

Well I was reading a People Magazine yesterday and came across this article on this new culinary adventure. It looks so crazy! And the cost.... Around $38,000 for a seating of 22 people! That is one astounding price tag! I wonder how the food is? And with a crane below, is it that atmospheric?

And okay the price DOES include 6 courses and wine but how much? And even if it were all you can drink... forget about it! Where would everyone take their trip to the loo? You cannot have this contraption going up and down like a carnival ride!

This restaurant experience is the brain chile of B elgian entrepreneur David Ghysels. Apparently they offer this mile-high dining in Europe and South Africa and a short appearance in Las Vegas this month. Should I rush out there? It is only a 5 hour drive! The photos above are in Amiens, France. Crazy, crazy, crazy! What will they come up with next? To learn more or see more photos visit: http://dinnerinthesky.com/

If money were no object, would you do it? I suppose I might... maybe once. I will try (most) anything once!

Ha ha Laura... You speak in Spanish from Paris? Funny because it took me a few minutes to understand. Despite being near the Mexican border, I am a bit better with my French. 4 years HS French and one semester in Paris.

PS. I am going to make your Veloute of Prawns this evening. I will let you know how it goes!

I can't believe you posted about this. I was just reading it in my People mag. this morning! It is a novel idea, isn't it? I don't know if I could quite handle it. I'd have the constant sensation of falling!

Ok, that's pretty scary looking, I got wussed out standing at the top of some of the churches in the Czech Republic, and at least when I did that there was good solid stone beneath me! I don't think anyone will be standing to deliver a toast during that meal!

Whoa! That is insane. Sort of cool, but sort of scary.

Talk about something I would NEVER do! My daughter and I just went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and we thought the elevator ride was pretty scary in itself...

My mother used to say this when stunning yet pointless things were done to attract public or media attention! Ha, ha! Enjoy the veloute!

If money were no object I would definitely try it out. I am thinking those people have more money than they know what to do with though. ;)

Lori- I know... I was catching up on magazines and read the article in my People Mag. on Sat. It is a nutty concept.

Single Girl- To my understanding it is in Vegas now. Or is has just left there.

Lulu- It would be a little scary. People are strapped in like a ride. Seems a confining way to eat.

Erin-Yes.... I cannot decide if it is cool or just plain "what will they think up next"???

Kate- So no for you?

Emily- I think I would try it once myself.

Taste Memory- Ha ha. I think maybe the photos I depicted are business people?? Here (if you scroll down a bit) you will find a girl in bright red w/ polka dots! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=451569&in_page_id=1770

Betty- I can't wait to hear about your trip to Paris. Do you know anything about the proposed addition to the Eiffel Tower?

Laura- I DO wonder how long this will be of interest. I feel the entrepreneur needs to get in, make his money and get out. Look for a post on the veloute in the next day or two. (amazing)

Jaime- I agree. What would that feel like? To have more money than you know what to do with it?
